Bella Luna Owners Expand

Bella Luna takes over at Edgecliff

Harry and Gay Stephens, who own Bella Luna in Linwood, have taken a lease on the space in the Edgecliff Private Residences that was the Coach and Four, and most recently the short-lived Edgecliff Bistro.

They will open a restaurant called View in January. The name reflects the room's position on the side of a hill in Walnut Hills, which offers a beautiful view from the patio. It's also in reference to seeing things in a new way, taking a new perspective. The menu will be "American classics with an inspired twist," so while there might be meatloaf on the menu, it won't be the meatloaf your mother made - it's more likely to be perhaps a venison meatloaf and unlikely to have a traditional ketchup glaze.

You will also be able to opt for a parallel tasting menu. This is a way of presenting the same food in two different ways. You might order a filet of beef and have it in two contrasting preparations. There could be a turkey dish presented in a traditional way along with, say, turkey with exotic mushrooms. This menu will be particularly suitable for groups of people.

One thing the menu will not be is anything like Bella Luna's Italian cuisine, though one executive chef will oversee both restaurants. Alfio Gulisano is an Italian-Argentinian who has been at Bella Luna since 2000. They are in the process of hiring a chef de cuisine for View, and developing the menu.
